Congratulations from Neotech on International Translation Day!

On September 30, translators around the world celebrate their professional holiday. Congratulations from Neotech to all our colleagues!

Translators gained their own professional holiday not so very long ago. It was only in 1991 that the Federation of International Translators (FIT) proclaimed September 30 International Translation Day. The date was no accident. It is a tribute to the memory of one of four Latin fathers of the Church: writer, historian, and translator Jerome of Stridon, who died on this day in the year 420.
In Russia, until recently only a few people knew that translators have their own professional holiday, though development of the translation field is linked inseparably with the history of Rus. State documents dating as far back as 1555 mention interpreters providing simultaneous oral translation.
Each year the Federation of International Translators works to draw attention on this day to the most global and pressing topics for the translation community. In 2009, the holiday's motto became the unique summons: "Working Together". This time the holiday was dedicated to the topic of seeking and implementing new methods of speedier and more efficient ways for translators to work, including sharing experience in translating complex technical documentation and terminology, and in actively involving the clients themselves in the translation process.
Neotech is delighted to congratulate all our colleagues with Translation Day! For many years now Neotech has stated with confidence: "We make sense". Uniting these words with the motto of our professional holiday, we have this wish for you: Working together makes sense!
