Neotech Cup karting tournament
On July 21 Neotech held the Neotech Cup karting tournament for current customers.
In PR there is one chrestomathic rule: the success of any event depends on the attitude of those in charge of it, the setting and place in which it is held, and, most importantly, the frame of mind in which the guests arrive. While the first two factors may be within the organizers’ control, the third depends on a whole range of circumstances: the situation at work, frequency of contact with the administration, vacations plans, alignment of the celestial bodies, and, finally, the weather – to name a few.
On June 21, Neotech held the Neotech Cup karting tournament for current customers, initiated by the company’s customer service department. The desire was to informally mingle with those to whom we are bound by the unbreakable bonds of work relations, whose names we wake up thinking of, live with throughout day, and sometimes go to sleep with. Clients are the people with whom you sometimes spend more time than with your own family members and loved ones. But how well do we really know each other? What are they like, our customers, outside the workplace and working hours? What do they live by, what gladdens and grieves them? In a word, we were geared towards getting to know the stars of our day-to-day lives.
Karting was chosen as the setting and place for the event for its ability to sweep everyone along, to infect with sporting fever, to lift the spirits. In karting it’s impossible to remain coldly indifferent or aloofly contemplative: hearing the motor’s roar, you want to get in the contest and positively to come out the winner. Whatever may have happened during the day, whatever problems may oppress your soul, in karting you forget it all.
And the guests? They came singly and in groups; the mood was clearly varied. Some, clearly old hands, came with their own coveralls and helmets, peering intently at the track and inquiring about the karts’ horsepower. Others stated at the outset, “No, no; I’ll watch and cheer, but no karting.” There were those who wanted to continue discussing current jobs and projects, and cut loose later – they still had a million things to do, a meeting to go to…
Thus they came! And then… the noise of the motors, the concentrated faces of the drivers, the emphatic cheers of the onlookers… From all sides one could hear lively discussions of the merits and faults of the karts, strategies for passing and coming out of turns… Passions boiled – jealousy, chagrin, delight… Hey! Where are all you latecomers, you doubters, you faint-hearts, you abstainers?! All are fighters, all need victory, and all are on a first-name basis.
Karting is impossible to describe; you have to do it. What a shame that not everyone could come; we want so much to share it with you. Be sure to come next time, and share with us in the delight of victory and the weariness of real contest. But for now, at least watch our little presentation. Download file (3,20 Mb)
